1843
Under the patronage of Sakthan Thampuran, trading families were invited to Thrissur to establish commerce. Chakolas Silk House was founded on High Road, marking the beginning of the group’s association with textiles and trade.
1932
Sri Chitra Mill was built, laying the foundation for organised spinning and weaving operations that would later strengthen the group’s textile legacy.
1947
The Chakolas Group acquired Sri Chitra Mill, formally entering large-scale textile manufacturing and deepening its commitment to fabric production.
1952
The first Chakolas Silk House store outside Thrissur opened in Cochin, expanding the brand’s reach beyond its hometown.
1956
The group established Chakolas Spinning and Weaving Mills, integrating manufacturing expertise with retail heritage.
1995 - Present
The Thrissur store moved from High Road to a larger space at Round North, reflecting the brand’s growth and evolving customer needs.
